Spider, Ant Species Named After Harrison Ford
In honor of Harrison Ford’s conservation efforts, a species of spiders (Calponia harrisonfordi) and ants (Pheidole harrisonfordi) have been named after the actor. Ford said in a recent interview that a scientist also wanted to name a butterfly species after him, but the film icon asked it be named after his 19-year-old daughter Georgia instead.
Ford has been a board member of the nonprofit organization Conservation International for nearly 20 years.
