A Tale Of Three South Street Consignment Shops…

Submitted by anaturalday on Monday, 23 March 2009No Comment

bella-boutique….and they were called Bella Boutique (next to the Curiousity Shoppe on 4th Street between South and Lombard), Retrospect (534 South Street) and Greene Street Consignment (700 South Street). Which one is the best? I suppose it depends on what you’re looking for. greene-street1

Greene Street has a nice selection of  women’s clothes…I have found some great shorts, t-shirts and other cute tops there. Prices are generally quite reasonable. Visit their website, www.greenstreetconsignment.com for infomation on selling clothes to Greene Street and what they accept.greene-street-2

Retrospect has been criticised for being way overpriced and having a staff with some major ‘tude problems. reterospect-2That said this store sells a wide array of stuff…men’s and women’s clothing, vintage furniture, jewelry, houseware, fabric, records and other assorted odds and ends. Snoop around for something one-of-a-kind. www.retrospectvintage.comreterospect

Bella Boutique…ahh Bella. Great store with an amazing selection of vintage handbags and cute clothes. I have found some really great dresses here, such as a gorgeous sundress from Express for $15 and a cute Gap bag for $10. There are usually $1-$3 bins of stuff (clothes, shoes, belts, etc)  in front of the store and you never know what cool stuff you might dig up! Find more information about Bella on www.yelp.com.
